Dorchester is deep in the heart of Thomas Hardy’s Wessex. Hardy based many of his novels on Dorset and ‘Casterbridge’ is based on Hardy’s home town of Dorchester. On the outskirts of Dorchester you will find Hardy’s birthplace and family home in Higher Bockhampton and Max gate, the home that he designed himself and lived in until he died, lies on the outskirts of Dorchester.

Church Farm Stables is beautiful self catering accommodation in the village of Buckland Newton, set in 20 acres of rural West Dorset.

Sleeps 4 as has one double bedroom, with ensuite shower, twin bedded room with bathroom adjoining. Private East facing terrace, wonderful views and walks.

Excellent local pub called the Gaggle of Geese, and great newly converted village shop both within walking distance. Quiet, private and a very peaceful place to stay.

Children welcome, sunken trampoline in the garden. WiFi in Stables, Sky TV, DVD player. Lots to see and do locally, well positioned for visiting the Jurassic South Coast.
