This beautiful 16th Century coaching inn was called The Sow and Acorn in the Thomas Hardy novel Tess of the d’Urbervilles.
Set in the picturesque West Dorset village of Evershot, this lovely old stone-built Inn boasts worthy history. Originally known as The Kings Arms, it once brewed its own ales with water drawn from the source of the River Frome.
All the original charm and character of 400 years exudes from the beamed bars and log fires that greet guests on arrival. Nestling among the rolling hills in an area of outstanding beauty and close to the British Heritage Coastline, you have the perfect base for exploring or walking.
The ten en suite bedrooms are individually decorated and have their own style and character.

Come and relax in any of our nine individually decorated and furnished ensuite bedrooms or treat yourself even further and stay in our suite. The Evershot Suite is a private loft suite with rooftop views, comprising of one double bedroom, one single bedroom, lounge and private bathroom with shower.
Each bedroom takes its name from Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles. Tess is a charming room with a feature bay window overlooking the village and Silverthorn boasts a four-poster bed, window seat and fireplace.
All rooms have colour televisions, telephones with modems and beverage-making facilities, hairdryers and irons are available on request.
Prices include full English breakfast, served between 8.00 and 9.30am, unless by prior arrangement.

The Acorn Inn is located one mile off the A37 Yeovil to Dorchester Road. From London take M3 to Junction 8, A303, then the A359 to Yeovil. Take A37 for 8 miles, then turn right to Evershot. Set in the middle of the pretty village of Evershot, the Acorn Inn is very easy to find. It is situated on the main street through the village, Fore Street.
