Naunton is a small, peaceful village in Gloucestershire, situated in the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It lies approximately 12 miles east of Cheltenham.
It is a quiet neighbour to the more tourist destinations of Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. The village boasts clusters of pretty yellow Cotswold stone houses with beautiful cottage gardens.
Naunton lies on the banks of the picturesque and meandering river Windrush. At the entrance to the village, the mill house stands prominently on the left. The village is also home to Cromwell House, built around 1600. Cromwell himself may not have lived here, but this was the home of the Parliamentarian Richard Aylworth, who served with him in defeating the Royalists near Stow-on-the-Wold in 1644.
