Week St Mary is a small, peaceful village in north Cornwall. It is situated south of Bude, near to the River Tamar and the border between Cornwall and Devon in the Hundred of Stratton.
Historically the village was of some importance and was the site of a Norman fortress. Today the village has a free grammar school that was founded in 1508 by one Thomasine Bonaventure, a village girl of poor stature, who eventually became Dame Percyval, Lady Mayoress of London.
Week St Mary has a splendid 14th - 15th century parish church dedicated to St Mary the Virgin. The tower contains a ring of six bells.
