St Keyne is a small village in south east Cornwall, situated just over two miles south of Liskeard. In what is more correctly known as a 'churchtown', St Keyne consists of a number of houses surrounding the church.
St Keyne was a fair lady of the 5th Century, who travelled to Cornwall to perform many miracles. Her name is given to the 'holy well' in the village. The spring of clear water was believed to give the upper hand to whichever of a bridal pair first drank of it after their wedding. Next to the well is a plaque which describes the spell which St Keyne cast upon the water of the well.
The small village also boasts a marvellous (working) musical instrument museum. The village is just 4 miles from the sea at Looe.
