Delabole village, in North Cornwall, is about 1 mile inland from the North Cornish Coast. Delabole is the third highest village in Cornwall and enjoys views across the Atlantic Ocean and the moors towards Roughtor and Brown Willy.
Delabole village takes its name from the slate quarry around which the village grew, which has been extracted since the 15th century. The quarry is now over 150 metres deep and 1.5 kilometres in circumference and is well known for the bluish grey colour and the very high quality.
The countryside surrounding Delabole is designated as an area of great landscape value.
